A reliable electrolytic silver recovery cell capable of maintaining very low silver concentrations. The SilverCell operates at a high current density and low cell voltage due to the high ratio of anode to cathode surface area; allowing the laboratory to maintain a lower silver concentration. The SilverCell will operate at a current density of 6-8 Amps per square foot at a silver concentration of less then 1 grams /liter. With conventional fix. The SilverCell-BF will operate at 25-30 Amps per square foot with conventional bleach or NR plus low flow wash.

Heavy Duty / Low Maintenance


The heavy duty cathode is supported by a precision drive assembly. The drive assembly on all SilverCells is a machined bearing block. The weight of the silver laden cathode is supported by an oversize taper bearing with adjustable tension. Concentricity is maintained with a second bearing. The bearings are assembled in the lubricated bearing block protected with a lip seal. The Bearing Block on the SS-20, SS-12, BF-10 and BF-6 is mounted on a heavy stainless plate welded to vertical stainless steel supports

The motor and gear box are conventional and are readily available Special bushings are used for long life. The carbons are attached to a heavy gauge T316 SS anode ring above the solution level. This a preferred engineering method to provide conductivity and long life.

The SS-20, SS-12, BF-10 and BF-6 incorporate exchangeable cathode sleeves. The current is transferred to the cathode through easily replaceable brushes.

The SS-20 features a 20 square foot cathode. The SS-12, a 12 square foot cathode. Both the SS-20 and SS-12 plate on both sides of the cathode and are manufactured in a heavy duty fiberglass tank. The SS-4 features a 4 square foot cathode that plates on the exterior of the cathode. The SS-4 is manufactured in a heavy duty molded polypropylene tank.

The BF-10 features a 10 square foot cathode, the BF-6, a 6 square foot cathode and are manufactured in a heavy duty fiberglass tank. the BF-2, is a 2 square foot cathode. manufactured in heavy duty polypropylene tanks.

All SilverCells have an external Power Supply included in the price. All Power Supplies have the capability of manual, timed, or automatic operation with the SilverController. High and Low Current Densities can be preset. Continuous Current Control is optional.


AC-DC Switching Constant Current Power Supply


The SilverCells utilize a solid state AC-DC Switching Power Supply. The Power Supply is operated by a micro-processor. The power supply is equipped with a digital display. The display will show the amperage and system voltage. In addition the system mode or time remaining is displayed. The power supply is capable of manual, timed or automatic operation with the SilverController.


Preset or Continuously (Proportional) Variable Current


Two Preset power levels can be programmed into the power supply. When matched to the SilverController the power supply will automatically switch to High Current, Low Current or Off depending on the silver concentration.

In the Proportional Mode, the SilverCell power supply will utilize the 4-20 ma ( 1-5 VDC) output of the SilverController. When operated by the SilverController the power supply will automatically vary the current output based on silver concentration. The power supply is programmed to provide a minimum and maximum plating output at predetermined silver concentrations.
